Since joining Patent Boutique LLP in 2017, Chris has built extensive experience in invention capture and the drafting of new patent applications. He regularly handles this critical stage for clients, and understands how it can be used to maximise the potential of your invention to match your commercial objectives.
Chris’s experience spans multiple industries, including advanced engineering, consumer goods, medical devices, sports technology, and manufacturing technology. He also plays a key role in the firm’s UP/UPC team, and is on hand to guide clients through the new Unitary Patent and Unified Patent Court systems.
Chris works with clients ranging from sole inventors to multinational corporations. He has successfully prosecuted patent portfolios around the world for clients across the engineering space. He confidently navigates the requirements of different jurisdictions to secure commercially valuable protection for his clients. Chris regularly conducts freedom-to-operate work for his clients, quantifying risks and offering guidance on product development.
Chris joined Patent Boutique after gaining his master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering with first class honours from the University of Sheffield.
