Having successfully completed the PGCert in Intellectual Property Law, at Queen Mary University, Chris is a part-qualified patent attorney, and will be preparing to take his UK and European finals in the near future. Chris was part of our first intake of technical assistants, starting with Patent Boutique in late 2017. He joined after gaining his master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering with first class honours from the University of Sheffield. His areas of knowledge include metallurgy, high entropy alloys, natural materials, rheology, technical ceramics, magnetic materials, composites, polymers and glass.
Whilst completing his degree, Chris gained industrial experience working for a market-leading multinational engineering company, developing material models for a finite element modelling package. He also has experience working in a world-class research environment, developing novel measurement techniques for natural materials, with a particular focus on silk.
Since joining Patent Boutique, Chris has gained experience working with clients ranging from sole inventors to multinational corporations. He regularly works on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications at the UKIPO and EPO, along with assisting in global prosecution work.
